Peer Academic Mentoring
Peer Academic Mentors (PAMs) are current Curtin students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. They are acing their studies, and can provide you with tips and advice to excel in yours too.
How we can help you:
- Academic skills development (reading, writing, planning, maths, stats and time management)
- Faculty or course-specific skills and questions
- Navigating Blackboard and OASIS
- Searching
- Referencing
- Software (Microsoft Office, SPSS, EndNote).
Peer Academic Mentoring is open to Curtin students across all faculties and campuses (including OUA).
You can visit us in-person or online, and can choose to drop in during our available hours or book an appointment online (bookings are encouraged).
Face-to-face sessions are conducted on level 4 of the TL Robertson Library (B105) – ask at the Help Desk and our friendly Library staff will direct you where to go, or find it on the map.
Online sessions are conducted via BlackBoard Collaborate.
Available times
Our Peer Academic Mentors* are available at various times during teaching weeks. The best way to view their availability is by checking our booking calendar.
If you need assistance outside of our available times, please Contact the Library.
*Please note that you may see any available mentor, and do not have to select someone within your faculty. Check out the “Meet your mentors!” section at the bottom of this page for detailed information about how each of our mentors can assist you.
Bookings are limited to one per student, per day. We encourage you to implement what you have learned during your appointment before booking another.
Peer Academic Mentoring is not available on Curtin-observed public holidays or during exam weeks.
