Anxiety Skills Group
Stressed? Anxious? This 10-session group held weekly might be just the thing you need to more effectively calm your mind and body when the many demands of student life become overwhelming.
We all experience stress and anxiety but sometimes it gets so high that it starts to interfere with our lives in different ways. It can interfere with our sleep, our eating habits and our relationships as well as our capacity to concentrate on and complete our studies.
In this 10-week group you will learn some practical skills in calming down your mind and body so you can do the things you normally do. Each 90 minute session will focus on a different skill with time for participants to practice. At the end of the program you will have a range of skills at your disposal that you can use to calm your mind and body when you really need to.
Semester 2 2018 schedule
Note: There are 2 groups running this semester.
Time and date:
- Group 1: 10am-11.30am, Tuesdays, between 31 July and 16 October (this includes tuition free weeks); AND
- Group 2: 10am-11:30am, Thursdays, between 23 August and 1 November (this includes tuition free weeks).
Location: Counselling & Disability Services, Building 109, Level 2.
