Students as Partners
At Curtin, it’s vital that students have a voice in decisions that impact the University, and that they engage in and contribute to the university experience. We call this Students as Partners, and it’s part of a formal agreement between Curtin and the Student Guild [.pdf 176KB].
Students as Partners means that wherever possible, staff will consult and collaborate with students, making them partners in decision making processes and empowering them to drive initiatives at the University. Not only does this ensure that your voice is heard, but it can help you develop your leadership and professional skills. It also gives you valuable experience representing your fellow students while contributing to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Students as Partners principles are:
You can be a Student Partner in a number of areas, such as:
- Curtin’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Learning and teaching
- Faculty experience
- Student experience, including co-curricular programs and support services
- University operations, including buildings and facilities, staff recruitment, and policy reviews.
