Academic Integrity Program (AIP)

If you’re a coursework student enrolled in a course, you’re required to complete Curtin’s Academic Integrity Program (AIP) within 14 days of the start of your first study period at Curtin.

The AIP will help you learn about the concept of academic integrity, Curtin’s Values, and what Curtin expects of you as a member of this academic community. The program will provide you with tools to successfully navigate tricky situations that challenge your academic integrity throughout their studies.

The AIP will take about two hours and forty minutes to complete and you must receive a mark of 80 per cent to pass. You can retake the test as many times as you need to pass the program.

Topics include:

  • Ethics
  • Curtin’s values and expectations for students
  • Referencing
  • Plagiarism
  • Cheating (including contract cheating)
  • Warning and misconduct processes and possible outcomes.

The course is available with your other enrolled units in Blackboard.

Log into OASIS to complete the AIP

Where do I find the AIP?

Access to the AIP is through Blackboard. If you are new to course you will see a link to the AIP in your ‘My Units’ list once you have logged into Blackboard. Here is a document showing screenshots [.pdf 661KB] of what you will see when you access the program in Blackboard. You can access Blackboard through OASIS.

What happens if I don't complete the program?

If you do not pass the program within 14 days after the start of your first study period of enrolment at Curtin, a sanction withholding your results will be applied to your account until you pass the program. You will see reminders to complete the AIP when you log into OASIS until you have passed it.

Where can I go to get help if I can't pass?

If you are having difficulty passing the program, you can contact uniskills for help.

What should I do if the modules or test won't release?

Make sure that you have completed all pages of the AIP content including the closing, reference and resource pages. This document gives tips on the process. If the problem persists log a Curtin Connect support request via web form.

What if I have completed the AIP and my results are still being withheld?

It will take up to 48 hours for the sanction withholding your results to be removed. If it has been more than 48 hours since you passed the program and your results have not been released, log a Curtin Connect support request via web form.

Can I learn the AIP content even if I am not required to complete the program?

Yes. If you are a Curtin student you can self-enrol into the AIP organisation site [.pdf 320KB] to view the content. The organisation site AIP does not include a test at the end.
