A number of internship programs with industry partners are available for higher degree by research (HDR) students. Some internships must be directly linked to your thesis topic and are undertaken during candidature; others are more general and can be done during the thesis examination period.

APR Intern PhD students can apply for internships with industry partners, for between 3-5 months duration, and receive $3,000 per month.

iPREP is an industry and PhD Research Engagement Program that provides PhD students the opportunity to gain industry experience while using skills gained in their PhD to solve an industry problem. The program provides you with new opportunities to network, build professional networks and enhance employability skills. Some students have gained ongoing employment as a direct result of participating in iPREP.
