How to graduate

A graduation invitation will be sent by Progression, Assessment and Awards Office staff via the Official Communication Channel (OCC) to eligible course completed students after result release for Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Follow the guide below to register to attend a ceremony or graduate in absentia.

Ensure you are eligible to graduate

In your final study period, make sure your course requirements are met and necessary paperwork complete before the relevant deadline:

  • Semester 1 2021 deadline: 23 July 2021
  • Semester 2 2021 deadline: TBC

Clear sanctions and update personal details

You can update your contact details and check for outstanding fees or fines in eStudent via OASIS. You must clear all sanctions to be eligible to graduate. To do this, log into OASIS, click eStudent in the my studies tab.

Please check that your name is correct as per your full legal name. To change your name, please submit the Change of Personal Details form before advised date.

* Change of name not allowable if the award has already been conferred by Curtin Council.

Receive your graduation invitation and register

Graduation registrations are sent out twice per year after result Release for Semester 1 and Semester (usually in July and December).

Your graduation invitation will be sent to your Official Communication Channel (OCC) in OASIS.

Follow the instructions in your invitation to register to attend a ceremony or graduate in absentia. You may choose to defer your ceremony for up to 12 months after conferral.

Please note: You must register to receive your Graduation Pack (Award Certificate and full Academic Transcript)

Key graduation registration dates

Last date for students to submit an Application for Intermediate Award in order to register for the September ceremonies.

Students who complete after this date will be conferred the following month, after the ceremonies.

Travel restricted international graduates

Due to Western Australian Government Covid-19 travel restrictions and border closures, some of our 2019, 2020 and Semester 1, 2021, international graduates who were enrolled at the Bentley campus, were not able to travel to Western Australia to attend their graduation ceremonies.

Travel restrictions are still strictly in place. As such, Curtin University is extending an inclusive invitation to our graduates to attend a graduation ceremony, virtually.

Please note, the University has made contact with these travel restricted graduates. For those who have indicated an interest in attending virtually, further communications have been/ will be sent to them shortly, to confirm their registration to attend a graduation ceremony, virtually.

If you have not received communications from the University on this, please contact Curtin Connect for further steps. Please ensure you meet the criteria below:

  1. Unable to travel to Perth due to Covid-19 travel restrictions
  2. Were a Bentley campus enrolled international student
  3. Have completed your course/s in 2019, 2020 and Semester 1, 2021
  4. Have not attended a graduation ceremony previously

Further information on our virtual graduation ceremonies will be communicated to you once you have indicated an interest to attend virtually.
