Benefits of living on campus
We know that sending a family member to university can be stressful, especially if they are moving from overseas, interstate or remote Western Australia. Let us take away some of that worry – check out our on-campus housing options at both our Perth and Kalgoorlie campuses. We also have trained housing staff that can help out with a range of accommodation options.
Convenient, independent and easy living
On-campus accommodation at Curtin allows each student to live, study and socialise all in one location. They can enjoy independent, hassle-free living within their own fully-furnished room which comes complete with a range of additional services and facilities for their comfort and convenience.
Students can make their way to class, the Curtin library, gym or shopping centre within minutes. Perth city and the Victoria Park café strip are only a short bus ride away. Car parking bays are also available.
Safe and secure environment
Safety on campus is a top priority, and this includes on-campus accommodation. On-campus housing has CCTV and is patrolled by the Curtin’s Safer Community Team who offer 24/7 assistance, every day of the year. The highly trained team are available to help with security escorts between housing and campus, mechanical assistance, and any issues relating to safety and security.
The free SafeZone smartphone app also puts our students in direct contact with our Safer Community Team at any time.
Residences also have staff on site and, for after-hours enquiries, there are Residence Assistants who live in the accommodation.
Making friends and feeling part of a community
Making new friends is an important part of university life. When living in on-campus accommodation, students are given many opportunities to make new friends with a range of fun weekly activities and social events. With a diverse range of students from all over the world, it’s not uncommon to make friendships that last well beyond their university years.
Students also have easy access to Curtin Stadium where they can participate in a range of sport, fitness and recreation activities as a way to unwind, keep fit and have fun between studying.
